An interesting case of papillary thyroid carcinoma with heterotrophic ossification

چکیده
Calcification in thyroid gland is associated with both benign and malignant lesion. However calcification most frequently seen lesions. can give rise to metaplasia bone containing marrow tissue. Papillary carcinoma heterotrophic ossification has been high incidence extrathyroidal invasion, multifocality, lymphnode metastsasis older age group than those without ossification. It not described as a specific entity WHO classification because of its rarity. Expression basic fibroblast growth factor morphogenetic protein was highest papillary intratumoral In this case report we 71-year-old female patient who sought medical care for swelling the neck past 4 years. The cervical ultrasound showed 2 well defined nodules measuring 2x2 cms 4mm right lobe larger lesion showing peripheral rim left isthumus shows lesions 5mm mm each. clinical diagnosis multinodular goitre. Patient subsequently underwent thyroidectomy. On histopathological investigation follicular adenoma extensive within tumor. margins were free neoplasia there no extension. No preineural/ vascular invasion noted. One identified which pTNM staging pT1bNxMx.
